Education is coming out on top. Canada’s Top 100 Employers, a competition recognizing the top 100 employers in each province, has named the University of Victoria as an employer-of-choice in B.C. Seven other B.C. post-secondary institutions were also recognized.

Established in 1963, UVic has perfected the formula over the last 63 years. The university was recognized for:

  • Providing tuition subsidies for courses related and not directly related to an employee’s current position, as well as in-house training programs, to encourage employees to continue their education.

  • Offering subsidized memberships to onsite and inclusive fitness facilities that feature tennis, squash and badminton courts, a climbing centre, a multi-purpose field house and sports therapy clinic.

  • Supporting retirement planning and providing generous contributions to a defined benefit pension plan. Employees may be able to take advantage of phased-in retirement work options.

This is the University of Victoria’s third consecutive year on the list of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
